koi reach about 10-12 inches in length, and they need a lottt of swimming room. dont get them, get some guppies or something for a 10 gallon

KOi need to be in a pond 1000 gallon plus you cant keep them in a fish tank!

here a few suggestions to the type of fish you can have in a 10 gallon tank

    dwarf gourami

    Cardinal tetras

    Galaxy rasbora

    Guppy

    Dwarf corydoras

    Dwarf lamprolagus

As the others have said Koi’s are a very large fish. Beautiful but they need a lot of swimming room, nothing short of a small pond or if you can hold a 500 gallon tank go for it. The listed fish from the previous person are nice but I would like to add some much more personable and colorfull fish. I have good experience with Cichlids.

African cichlids are very energetic and colorfull but very aggressive and territorial so make sure to get them when they are young & from the same store, and make sure there are lots of hiding places like rocks and plants. They reach sizes from 2″ – 12″ depending on the type you buy. Tank size should be nothing short of 40 gallon.

For a 10 gallon tank I would say upgrade, but if the cant happen gor for tiger barbs or giant danios, very energetic and love to swim in schools of 3 or more, also would be fine for a 10 gallon tank.

    Hope this helps

You’re better off getting 2 goldfish. Koi can sometimes grow up to 3 feet. There’s no way you can keep a full grown koi in a 10 gal. That’s why they bred goldfish for small containers, compared to the needs of a koi.

Koi can easily reach 3 feet long. They are not a fish you can keep in a 10 gallon tank. Koi need ponds, period.

You could get a fish called a shubunkin. They have similar colors to a koi but don’t get as big. You’re still going to need 50+ gallons depending on what you get.
