This is simply because Koi fish can grow so large and they need a lot of room to grow and if they are in a small environment then it could result in your fish fighting with each other. It also means that if you keep your Koi fish in a small pond which doesn’t have enough room for your fish to live then it will mean that you will find it difficult to maintain the fish pond.
